Block It Out
About
Block-it-out is a 2D puzzle platformer made for the Bad Ideas Game Jam.
You are a solo indie developer working on the early stages of your unnamed game. You have coded the basic movement and created a rough layout for your levels. However, the levels cannot be completed as they are, so you must place boxes to help you reach the end. There are five types of boxes, each with its own effects, and you are given a set amount in each level to prevent the game's file size from becoming too large.
Will you finish building all 12 levels, bringing you one step closer to completing your game, or go back to the drawing board?
Controls
This game can only be played on keyboard and mouse.
Play Mode:
AD/← →: Move Left or Right
W/↑/Space: Jump
Tab: Switch to Editor Mode
Editor Mode:
Left Click: Select/Place Box
Right Click: Delete Box
Hold Shift + Left Click: Move Box
WASD/↑←↓→: Move Camera
Tab: Switch to Play Mode

hello! here is a review:
things that I liked about this game:
I think the Background music is a good. It's not annoying or repetitive to listen to.
The player character is cool & I like their little dance. (Do they have a name?)
I also like how the game takes place in a game engine (Godot I am assuming based off the level select screen and edit function).
things that i did not like:
Wall-jumping was sometimes tricky to pull off (but it was manageable)
I couldn't get past level 7. I'm assuming the solution is the place 2 vertical moving platforms to traverse up the spiked walls at the start, however the second moving platform I use would not spawn in unless I hit the spikes.
I think this is a nice start to the games I will be commenting on for this game jam.
i really enjoyed this, five stars from me will recommend
